Is president Bush’s 700Billion Dollar bailout a way to keep President Obama from implimenting Universal Health?

By bankrupting the US Government, President Obama wont be able to offer Universal health care to the United States citizens. Do you think maybe that’s Lame Duck Bush’s intentions?
It's now obvious that Bush will bankrupt our nation as the Republican Party cheers him on in spite of losing to the Dems. The few Republican nay sayers are simply grandstanding.

This is the reason why both candidates (McCain, Obama) are skeptical about the bail-out. Both of them don't like it, but both of them are pressured to eventually support it. Both candidates knew that once they favored the bail-out, they have to cut-back spending on many of their promised social programs (health-care, education, fixing of crumbling infrastuctures, Veteran's benefits, etc.) in order to offset the negative impact of the bail-out on the federal budget-deficit.
In fact, Obama already made an acknowledgment that many of his social programs will suffer because of this. In other words, Americans must prepare themselves for some serious belt-tighening regardless of who becomes the next president.

  1. I used to think that President Bush was planning on bankrupting the country in order to destroy the last vestiges of the social safety net, but now I think he was just planning on stealing the money for himself and his friends.

  2. I think its more like Chris Dodd and Nancy Pelosis plan.

  3. No. It’s not all about Barack Obama.

  4. It could be, but I don’t honestly believe that the US government will be able to afford either the bailout or universal health care, we are in too much debt as it is.

  5. His health care plan was going to be paid for by increasing taxes on the wealthy. That’s not going to happen.

  6. Samantha… If this bailout doesn’t bankrupt America I can assure you Universal health care surely will.. Universal health care doesn’t work. Canada has more then demonstrated that.

  7. I’m not sure it was an absolute intention but it sure is convenient, isn’t it? Bush is far more interested in protecting the interests of his rich buddies than he is in anything else. All you have to do is look at the state of Galveston TX – Bush’s home state, for God’s sake! – to see proff of that. No one is rushing in to give this town financial aid, but they sure are quick to give multi-billions of our tax dollars to save companies killed by their greedy CEOs!!

  8. I’m not sure this tactic is aimed as Obama. In fact, Bush doesn’t care for McCain very much either. So, I’m incline to believe that he wants to enrich those he intends the funds to go to and ruin the financial stability for the next president no matter who it is. That way if they can’t repair his damage maybe, just maybe, he won’t go down in history as our worst president ever.

  9. Interesting question!

Even before the bailout plan, America was in debt. Remember Bush borrowed from China. I haven’t heard where that money went to. But the constitution and congressional record covers such matters.

There is a possibility that some very wealthy neo-cons will quit manipulating our markets and give it time to “correct itself”.

There is also the possibility that they’ll quit investing in Americas future markets.

There is also the possibility that they’ll quit investing in Americas future altogether. That’s their choice.

No matter what happens, the next president will have a mess to clean up. Whoever it is better have a Universal Health Care Plan that is about keeping America’s People Healthy.
